Dame Helen Mirren was the exact ray of sunshine we needed during this unexpected (and unwelcomed) snow-filled March.

There’s been lots of hype around the 77 year old’s latest film Shazam! Fury of the Gods, not only because it’s the latest superhero movie, but it’s also the first film in which the acting legend has joined the Marvel family.

The buzz surrounding movie was only amplified last night at the film’s premiere in London thanks to her stellar sartorial agenda. She graced the red carpet wearing a showstopping, ‘Barbiecore’-approved, fuschia pink cloak that brought all the drama alongside Lucy Liu's captivating yellow gown. And the pair absolutely nailed 2022's evergreen dopamine dressing trend.

The dazzling, floor length cloak was fit for a queen– an accurate depiction for acting royalty who has graced our screens for over 50 years – and boasted dramatic mid-length flute sleeves, fastened with an oversized bow at the collar and flowed down into a train, gracefully sweeping the floor as she moved.

As ever the Dame was bang on trend with both her cool cloak and her accessories. She paired the look with chunky diamante hoop earrings and the chicest appendage of 2023 – black sheer gloves. Her look perfectly encompassed a combination of two of 2022’s biggest trends: Valentino PP pink and Miscreants’ coveted balloon-sleeved-black-glove mini dress.

She tactfully wore her hair in a pulled back high bun to let her dazzling outfit do the talking.

Hot pink is clearly Dame Helen’s colour for a sartorial pick-me-up. At the Berlin Film Festival last month she opted for a more casual, but equally as cool look wearing a cashmere roll neck in the same fuchsia hue.

And though Barbiecore has been a major trend over the last year, the actress was ahead of the curve in 2016, nailing elevated separates in bold pink trousers with a white shirt at The Wrap's Power Women Breakfast at 10 in New York City.

Lucy Liu also nailed the dopamine dressing trend

Talking of rays of sunshine, Lucy Lui looked like a literal fireball and stunned in a satin yellow dress that gave Belle from Beauty and the Beast an upgrade with the ultimate slinky silhouette.

She wore an elegant off the shoulder gown with a ruffled chest area and a flattering structured corset style bodice. A subtle front slit across the midriff to separate the top and the skirt, with a major thigh-high split created a dazzling silhouette.
