Has Ellie Goulding been taking style cues from Julia Fox? The British singer-songwriter stunned at ‘The Drop’ at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles on March 14, and her daring, ab-baring outfit was quite the showstopper.
The Grammy-nominated artist held an intimate conversation inside the museum about the making of her new upcoming album Higher Than Heaven. And her outfit certainly fit the ‘intimate’ bill, with a lace bra and sheer trousers that might just be the most creative two-piece we’ve seen during this transitional-season period, that takes ‘spring dressing’ quite literally.

Ellie channelled poison ivy in Alberta Ferretti
The head-to-toe Alberta Ferretti look from its SS23 collection began with a daring moss green bralet that boasted a sheer leaf-motif neckline and 3D embroidered leaf adornments. The matching trousers with a tonal undershorts just about halted her from participating in the ‘naked dress’ trend, but left her enviably sculpted midriff on show. The outfit gave us major Julia Fox vibes (remember her iconic leaf bra?) with a dash of super villain Poison Ivy.
The naturistic theme continued to her footwear, where monochrome snake print court shoes finished off the ensemble.
It appeared that the Love Me Like You Do singer also gave her hair a spring makeover which she donned for the first time during the occasion. Her brunette tresses with caramel lowlights were left loose and wavy, the total opposite to her dark brown updo we saw at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on Sunday.

RELATED: Ellie Goulding just took power dressing to the next level
The last time we saw a fashion muse in a skimpy leaf adorned ensemble, was the formidable, unofficial queen of DIY dressing, Julia Fox. In a dress which she dubbed “The Fall 2022 dress” (aptly in autumnal tones), the Uncut Gems star made the piece from leaves and resin, with help from sculpturist and artist Emma Fujiko.
This is a trend we hope the fashion set will not ‘leaf’ alone…
