Spring is here and with it comes an entire new season for us to become sartorially inspired by. Spring fashion comes in many guises, and means we start to eschew our coats and warm winter wools for lighter knits, denim jackets and floaty dresses. Of course one of the first places the team at Hello! Fashion turns to when it comes to dressing for the milder weather is, you guessed it, Instagram.

Thankfully, some of our favourite Influencers are already starting to show off their new wares and we couldn't be more grateful. Free People, with its cool staples and laidback aesthetic, has captured the hearts of the style set and has plenty of pieces we have our eyes on for the season ahead.

The American cult-favourite label is laden with cool-girl approved new season pieces, from gauzy linen separates to 'it' jackets and fringed denim, not to mention the eternal transitional weather staple; the bomber.

Take a look at the Influencer-adored pieces to add to your spring fashion repertoire:

The Floral Outerwear

@patriciaodwyer

Florals for spring may not be groundbreaking, but its a failsafe way to signal the start of the season. The bed jacket, a lightweight short 'Coastal-grandma' aproved piece is the prettier version of your traditional quilted jacket. Free People's  design, as seen on Patricia Niamh O'Dwyer, is a vintage-inspired piece in a babydoll-silhouette with pleating detail that Influencers are going gaga for.

The Sheer Shimmer Top

green8

@angiesmith

Arguably one of Free People’s most spotted tops on the 'gram is the filter mesh top - but it's so popular, it barely stays in stock. Stylist and all-round cool-girl Angie Smith makes a case for the classic 'jeans and nice top' combo which works all year round. Thankfully there's a new version for spring; worn with cigarette trousers or high-waisted jeans, the barely-there layer is featured in sequin mesh fabric with a shimmery design. Run don't walk.

The Maxi Skirt

green2

@flavianamatata

Nothing heralds the return of spring quite like crisp white denim if you ask us, and luckily Flaviana Matata has served us with the perfect way of styling Free People's much lusted after 'Come As You Are' denim maxi skirt. A true wear-with-everything classic, this timeless style pairs perfectly with your favorite tee or strappy tank and can be easily elevated with the addition of luxe neutrals and knits.

The Silk Bomber

green12

@enrrs

A bomber jacket is this season’s outerwear essential, as championed by Bella Hadid, Sienna Miller and Hailey Bieber, as well as influencers including Enora. The silky fabric of this outerwear nails two trends in one, lime green which is predticted to be one of 2023's favourite summer colours and luxe sportwear which is still thankfully on our radar for SS23. French influencer Enora makes the case for switching from khaki greens and muted tones to bright and bold for some serious dopamine inducing dressing. If green isn't your style the jacket is also available in sundried orange and magenta.

The Polka Dot Slip

green9

@delaneylawrence

Polka dots are a perennial Spring favourite, as classic as a Breton stripe and every bit as versatile. Even if your style more Courtney Love than Princess Kate, the pattern deserves a place in your wardrobe. At the moment we are swooning over maxi styles which can be dressed up or down for any occasion, perfect for royalty and rock stars alike. This silk polka dot maxi dress has all the elements of a classic transitional dress; it can be dressed up with heels and a leather jacket, a la Delaney Lawrence, or down with a mohair sweater layered over the top.

The Fringed Denim Jacket

green15

@rebeccaferrazwyatt

A denim jacket is an easy update for spring, and a stylish way to elevate your look for this season is with fringe. This Free People’s denim 'shacket' features tassels a plenty for that utterly Daisy Jones & The Six 1970s aesthetic that the fashion set have all been coveting recently. Follow Rebecca Olivia's lead and wear with leather trousers for the ultimate in transitional dressing.

The Mini Skirt

green7

@emilymen

Ever since the mini skirt went viral last year we've been lusting after our own micro moment, and right now the pleated skirt is the cheekiest addition to your spring wardrobe although this time the skirt is grown up for 2023 with upscale pleating, team with loafers and chunky socks like Emily Men for a look which is more CEO than school girl. If you are worried about unforgiving hemlines Free People offer their iteration in a 'skort' version. Phew.
