Lily Allen has undergone possibly the most dramatic style transformation of all time. From her impressive wardrobe revamp to her unrecognisable hairdo, the British icon is a master when it comes to sartorial versatility.
The 37-year-old travelled across London (though perhaps no longer “riding through the city on [her] bike all day”) for a press day to promote her upcoming Sky Atlantic series Dreamland. And her outfit changes proved why she will forever be a style muse.
The only thing that stayed constant throughout her ‘lewks’ as she described them, was her super chic french bob. Short hair is 2023’s style of the moment (which we’re sure is welcomed by Anna Wintour and Edna Mode’s hairstylists), and Lily’s blonde tresses are key to always making her ensembles look extra polished – there’s never a single strand out of place.

Oozing elegant evening glamour, the Smile singer dazzled in head to toe Giorgio Armani. She wore a sheer netted top that boasted stunning long sleeves and a daring low back detailing, adorned with chunky sequin flower embellishments. Backless bodysuits have become a staple on Lily’s new style agenda – for a dinner with Chanel last autumn she also sported a similar all-black look.
She tucked it into a pair of velvet wide leg trousers with a waist cinching belt to create a flattering silhouette, and blinding bijouterie amped up the glam.
Sticking with Italian luxury houses, she nailed the ‘elevated separates’ agenda in a cool-hued Fendi look that we’ll 100% be recreating for spring. Lily wore a silver metallic skirt and a grey high neck jumper with ‘Fendi’ emblazoned on the elasticated trim for an appearance on This Morning. She paired with large silver hoop earrings (though perhaps not quite as big as she’d have worn during her Not Fair heyday) and pastel blue wedge knee high boots, proving that the quirky, 2000's west London Lily we all fell in love with will never leave.

Rounding off the day by epitomising ultra-chic, Allen wore a black fitted Victoria Beckham dress that served super sophistication, paired with black stiletto boots. The look was the icing on the cake of what proved to be an impressive day of outfits. She joined the long line of fashionistas who have recently worn pieces from VB’s eponymous line, including the Princess of Wales and Julia Roberts.
Lily sophisticated agenda did not stop yesterday. This morning she headed to the Radio 2 studio channeling her inner Parisian, wearing a stunning polka dot tea dress paired with nude court heels and the dreamiest red tweed Chanel bag.
Her style transformation is perhaps an ode to her drastic life changes. During her appearance on This Morning, Lily – who is married to Stranger Things star David Harbour said that she is: “four years clean and sober”.
“It is weird. My life has changed so much,” she continued, “I’m four years clean and sober, I have a new husband, we’re sorting our lives out in America.”
