Another day, another look from Nicola Peltz Beckham’s wardrobe that we desperately want to copy. The 28-year-old has been serving us major style inspo recently, and her latest 2000s accessory is the ultimate bag for the spring/summer season.
Just this month she’s perfected spring date night layering in a dress that was a high-street steal, recreated an iconic Paris Hilton fashion moment, and made the case for Y2K-approved super glossy lip gloss. Now, the Welcome to Chippendales star has added a throwback accessory to our spring wishlist: the bowling bag.
The flat bottomed, cylindrical shaped handbag was every It-girl’s dream in the late 90s/2000s (Paris Hilton’s plethora of Samantha Thavasa bags were a force to be reckoned with). But we started seeing the revival of it in 2022 – as we did with everything else that made the most unexpected return from the iconic era – from UGGs to Miu Miu mini skirts and butterfly clips.

Perhaps the OG of this handbag silhouette was Prada who released the bag shape in its SS00 ‘Sincere Chic’ collection as an ode to similar shaped bags of the 50s and 60s. Though don’t be fooled. Despite its name, the design has never been big enough to fit an actual bowling ball in. We’d need a ludicrously capacious bag for that…
Prada revived the bag for its 20th anniversary in 2020, keeping its signature coloured panelling. Fast forward to last summer and the asymmetrical carrier was being sported on influencer street style agendas everywhere.

Nicola shared an image with her 2.9 million Instagram followers showcasing her Wednesday off-duty cool look. She wore a pair of light wash high waisted denim jeans with a black ribbed-sleeved jumper given a chic french tuck. Proving she’s the ultimate Y2K muse, she carried a crisp white bowling bag that boasted quilted panelling, gold hardware and a dainty outer pocket.
She wore her long chocolate brown tresses loose and curly paired with a subtle winged eye-liner look – a Nicola Peltz signature.
The neutral toned bag is not only perfect for spring, but will elevate any look for any season.
