Maya Jama is taking over the world, and we absolutely love to see it. The 28-year-old TV powerhouse, fashion muse and everything in between, is now the newest face of London’s most iconic beauty brand: Rimmel.
She was already a national treasure, but since her Love Island debut, she's become the UK's most loved fashion icon. She served some of her most incredible looks of all time, from crazy cut out dresses to vintage Dolce and Gabbana: she had us captivated every single week.
Now the former girlfriend of Stormzy can add 'beauty queen' to her ever-growing list of accolades. “Obviously, I grew up watching Kate Moss and she’s a legend and an icon — I’ve met her a few times, and I’m always like, ‘aaaaaah’” she told the Evening Standard. “I try to play it really cool but to follow in her footsteps is unreal. Like I think it’s such an honour — and I feel so lucky to be even in the same kind of pathway.”

Her beauty agenda is always equally as exquisite as her outfits, notably her picture perfect winged eyeliner -- omething we now know she does herself every.single.time. “I always do my own eyeliner wing no matter who does my makeup. It’s the main thing I practised in the school toilets at lunch breaks with my friends way back in the day,” she said, “we’d all sit down and try and do a winged liner”. Please Maya, teach us your ways.

She also explained that ‘get the London look’ is no longer. “It’s actually ‘live the London look’ now,” she said. “It was absolutely mad, that was the bit that I was most excited for, mainly because I’ve just seen it growing up.”
Though Love Island only ended this month, another winter season has already been confirmed for 2024 with Jama is continuing as host, meaning another season of her blessing us with sartorial greatness.
Just when we thought we couldn’t love her any more.
