The new season is officially here, and there's no time to waste.

They don't call it spring cleaning for nothing, the wardrobe refresh starts right now and that includes your jewellery collection

An overhaul feels long overdue, and this season we are totally spoilt for choice when it comes to chunkier, more heavy-duty pieces.

As we emerge from winter, we're all about levity. Shedding thick knits in favour of airy sheers and floaty meshes is our sartorial focus right now, and offsetting these fabrics with chunky cuffs, weighty chains and sculptural earrings can make for a chic juxtaposition.

SS24 Jewellery Trends

Recent runways dictate that chunky styles still deserve a place on your accessory radar for SS24. Gilded Y-shaped chains stood out at Tom Ford, some skinny, resembling bolo ties, others with a weightier, more artisanal feel, snaking from the collarbone right the way down to the navel, flanked by unbuttoned silky shirts.

Tom Ford SS24

Also at Tom Ford, ornate, textured cuffs made an appearance, whereas the style was reinterpreted in cool chrome, almost dystopian in sentiment, at Tory Burch.

Everything was coming up roses at Palomo Spain via the label's supersize creations. Metallic chokers, ear climbers and other iterations brought the classically romantic floral to the fore.

Chanel SS24

Similarly at Chanel, statement blooms were on the cards, affixed to chain chokers and styled asymmetrically for offbeat, holiday glamour.

How we chose:

  • Style and chunkiness: We've scoured the internet's top fashion sites for the chicest pieces of chunky jewellery. They have a thick, weighty appearance, often statement and standout. All our picks either feel bang on trend for SS24 or have a certain seasonless, classic appeal.
  • Price: Whether you're planning on splashing out or bagging a bargain, we've got a piece of chunky jewellery in your price range. We've selected this season's best, ranging from affordable-luxe brands to high-end jewellery labels if you're looking to invest.

  • The Timeless Signet

    Ring Classic Green-Gold

    Crafted from...

925 Sterling silver with yellow-gold plating and an imitation malachite.

Ornate and striking, this chunky unisex signet by Thomas Sabo showcases the beauty of deep emerald paired alongside brassy gold - one of my all-time favourite colour combinations. The imitation malachite acts is the hero feature, providing a mesmerising, unique focal point.

  • The Sculptural Hoops

Simone Bodmer-Turner Bubble Recycled Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings

    Agmes

    Crafted from...

    Recycled Sterling silver.

Created in partnership with Brooklyn-based artist and sculptor Simone Bodmer-Turner, these earrings by artisan NYC jewellery label Agmes present an offbeat take on a jewellery classic. The hoop has been reworked into a minimalist, bubble-inspired design, and these would look great with a polo neck knit.

  • The Curly Choker

    Maddie Brushed Gold-Tone Choker

    Cult Gaia

    Crafted from...

    Gold-tone metal.

It-girl favourite Cult Gaia has a really beautiful selection of jewellery, including this rose-gold choker. With smooth, round edges, this zig-zag piece feels pretty and feminine, and would work beautifully alongside soft crafting techniques such as crochet or macramé.

  • The Infinity Bracelet

    Chunky Infinity Knot Chain Bracelet

    Crafted from...

    Sterling silver.

Steeped in timelessness, this chunky silver bracelet by Pandora is perfect for everyday, and would look great styled alongside a couple of slim, similarly-hued bangles. Fittingly, the infinity knot, representing an "unbreakable bond", is a marker of enduring, everlasting elegance.

  • The Contemporary Treasure

Crumple Recycled Gold Vermeil Pearl Ring

    Completedworks

    Crafted from...

Recycled gold vermeil and freshwater pearl.

Created by Anna Jewsbury, idiosyncratic jewellery label Completedworks is unmatched when it comes to quirky, off-beat chic. This piece features a wide gold band and an elegant freshwater pearl, and would pair beautifully with a minimalist, peachy-nude mani.

  • The Vintage-Effect Bracelet

    Chunky Twisted Bracelet

    Crafted from...

    18K gold-plated stainless steel.

With a distinctly glamorous, vintage air, this chunky chain bracelet by Anisa Sojka is unapologetically luxe-looking. Style yours peeking out under the cuff of a silky, off-white shirt. It also has a matching necklace if you're set on leaning into the statement look.

  • The Joy-Inducing Hoops

    Gold-Tone Crystal Embellished Earrings

    Oscar de la Renta

    Crafted from...

    Gold-tone metal and rainbow-coloured crystals.

Playful and statement, these colourful hoops by Oscar de la Renta are serving major party energy. The rainbow-coloured crystals twinkle against the glossiness of the gold, and these would make for a great investment if you love pretty brights.

  • The Maximalist Sparkle

    Silver-Tone Crystal Necklace

    Marni

    Crafted from...

    Silver-tone metal and crystals.

Decadent and dazzling, this piece by Milanese luxury label Marni features white and yellow crystals set inside silver links. Style alongside a plunging neckline for maximum drama.
