Jodie Comer completely dominated the Olivier Awards last night, winning Best Actress for her role in the show Prima Facie and making a major statement on the red carpet. The 30-year-old caught our attention not only because she bagged the top award (though we'd expect nothing less), but on account of her exceptional outfit that swayed from her usual aesthetic.
The Killing Eve star looked every inch the leading lady in a scarlet high-low dress by Alexander McQueen. Her stylist Elizabeth Saltzman, who also works with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Poppy Delevingne and Julia Garner, outdid herself with Jodie's glamorous ensemble.

Her gown, from the British luxury label's AW23 ready-to-wear collection, featured an off-the-shoulder neckline, and central romantic ruffle detailing which extended out into the asymmetric hem. The piece felt suitably dramatic for the annual ceremony which celebrates theatrical excellence, and also oozed femininity, sitting outside the realms of her usual look.
Jodie typically swerves bright shades in favour of perennially chic black pieces that instead exude understated elegance – think sharp suiting and cool-girl LBDs.
But at this year's Olivier Awards, Jodie switched things up with an injection of colour, favouring a hemline that felt strongly reminiscent of Anya Taylor-Joy's recent Barbiecore moment at Michelle Yeoh's Oscars celebration.

Far from being Jodie's only triumph of the night, her stellar ensemble was supplemented by a big win. The star scooped Best Actress award for her role in Suzie Miller's Prima Facie, a one-woman show (the recipient of the Best New Play award) which has been running at The Harold Pinter Theatre. The actress plays a working-class criminal defence barrister who undergoes a shift in attitude towards the legal system after she is sexually assaulted.
Jodie expressed her gratitude to the playwright in her acceptance speech, sharing that the production has changed her life. "One thing I would like to say to any kids who haven't been to drama school, who can't afford to go to drama school, who has been rejected from drama school, don't let anyone tell you that it isn't possible," she told the star-studded audience.
