Literally the only thing everybody is talking about right now is Barbie the movie.
The sartorial excitement surrounding this movie is a force to be reckoned with thanks to: 2022's Barbiecore phenomenon, the film trailers that previewed some epic outfits, and Margot Robbie's press tour wardrobe which was perhaps the most iconic in history. The hype leading up to the release date of July 21 was incomprehensible.
Every influencer on the planet is showing us their best pink outfits on social media, fans are heading to the cinema to watch the show in Barbie-approved looks and songs from the official soundtrack from Dua Lipa and Nicki Minaj are globally trending sounds on TikTok.

RELATED: Margot Robbie is the perfect Barbie, and the new film trailer proves it
From the moment the first trailer dropped in 2022, the world was hooked. Then earlier this year, we thought Dua Lipa announcing her role in the movie whilst sporting the wackiest blue hair was the end of our fashion and beauty excitement before the movie premiered. But Warner Bros released another trailer for the Greta Gerwig-directed film and Barbie fans and fashion fanatics alike went into meltdown. So much so that Barbie was trending higher on Twitter than Donald Trump’s court case at the time.
Suffice to say the movie provided everything we wanted and more: pink mania, looks from every decade, and enough ultra-feminine dressing inspiration to last a lifetime. Here is all the stellar fashion moments you might have missed.
Barbie's Meghan Markle-approved necklace
Barbie wore the Ridge Heart Charm Necklace from British brand Missoma, a label that the Duchess of Sussex has been a long time supporter of. Do you need anymore proof that this movie has the chicest ensembles ever?
Barbie's Heart Dress:
Barbiecore but make it blue. Margot Robbie wore a halterneck mini dress with matching chunky earrings and a blue headband.
Ken's Pastel Co-ord:
The coolest beachwear. Do they do it in our size?
Visor Barbie:
This Barbie worn an 80s-approved purple and orange visor with a matching one-shoulder top and patterned skirt.
Grease Ken:
Danny Zuko meets Ken is the combination we never knew we needed.
Cowgirl Barbie:
Clearly Barbie is a fan of following fashion trends. She wore the ultimate cowgirlcore outfit in the ultimate barbiecore colourway. Iconic.
Lacrosse Ken:
Who said a headband and vest to play sport couldn't be fashionable?
Winter Barbie
Look no further for your winter 2023 fashion inspo. Barbie and Ken rode a pink snowmobile wearing epic fluffy knee high boots.
Gingham Barbie:
One of the first outfits we saw in the second trailer. Barbie wore an iconic pink and white gingham midi with a pleated skirt.
Disco Barbie:
Barbie's strapless sequin jumpsuit is perfect for special occasions...
Allan's iconic rainbow shirt
Michael Cera, who plays Ken's former best friend Allan, wore the doll's classic rainbow-striped shirt.
60s Barbie
One of Barbie's chicest looks. She wears a navy mini dress with a structured white collar. This is absolutely an outfit the Princess of Wales would approve of.
Boilersuit Barbie
Barbiecore but make it off-duty cool. This pink all-in-one would go straight in our basket.
The Paris Hilton approved hair-accessory:
While driving in her pink convertible waving at by passers, Barbie's blonde tresses are in her signature half up half down style, kept neatly together by a pink gingham bow. Paris Hilton proved last month that chunky hair bows are back and are spring's prettiest accessory. Here’s 7 of the best you can shop now.
Tweed two-piece overload:
In a clip at the President's office, she is surrounded by perhaps the most stylish ‘officials’ ever. Three out of four are wearing tweed suits in green, yellow and blue with trousers, skirt and shorts variations. If this doesn’t convince you add a tweed two piece to your wardrobe for the spring/summer months, nothing will.
Driving Barbie:
Hair bows were everywhere during Fashion month, particularly in London. Susan Fang made the case for bows on clothes, in the hair and even on the face. Margot Robbie’s bow to tie her long side plait would have slotted in perfectly.
Margot Robbie's feet:
Robbie opens the trailer and immediately thrusted us into a whirl of nostalgia. There's a close up of her feet (iconically arched just like everyone's favourite Mattel doll) as she struts across the screen, wearing a pair of 70s satin pink slip on mules with a pink pom and diamante encrusted heels.
Green snake print boots:
One particularly entertaining character impressively dropped down into the splits and almost kicked us in the face through with a pair of lime green, snake print, knee-high boots. We'd absolutely approve if 'statement Barbie' became a thing...
Ken’s Barbie jacket:
Nothing says ‘supportive boyfriend’ like rocking a jacket with your partner’s initials on it. Ken’s ‘b’ emblazoned jacket that gave Gucci’s GG jacquard pattern a run for it’s money, also reminded us of when David Beckham wore a Posh Spice t-shirt. The epitome of stylish couple goals.
Emma Mackey’s earrings:
When we heard Emma Mackey was starring in Barbie, we were ecstatic. To then see a clip of Mackey in the trailer standing next to Ncuti Gatwa, our inner Sex Education fan girl screamed. The only thing that was distracting us from their epic reunion, was Emma’s incredibly elegant pearlescent dangle earrings that we're positive the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex would approve of.
