HoYeon Jung led the glamour last night (April 6) at the first ever GQ Global Creativity Awards ceremony held at the WSA in New York City.
We've already pined over the 28-year-old's impeccable off-duty style, but the Squid Game actress, who plays Kang Sae-byeok in the series, proved her sartorial versatility on the red carpet by wearing a breathtaking floral dress that was as interesting and innovative as the groundbreaking Netflix show.

The Louis Vuitton global ambassador and former model donned a striking strapless dress from the french label that boasted bronze flowers across the metallic fitted bodice, which fell into a ruched black skirt that elegantly swept the floor as she moved. One might think: “flowers for spring? how groundbreaking”. But with the help of her stylist Andrew Mukamal, Jung wore a gown that put a vintage spin on the season’s signature trend.
It was not a typically uber-feminine floral gown (a la Zendaya at the SAG awards 2023), or a bolshy pattern that spans from head to toe. The corset body boasted intricately designed sequins to create a silver background awash with bronze flowers, shimmering green leaves and beaded pink pollen. The dress schooled us on new ways to wear the currently adored metallics trend, yet the chunky flowered pattern and retro colourway gave made for an interesting design. She totally eschewed jewellery to let the dress take in all the glory.
The model-turned-actress kept elegance at the top of her agenda with her long dark tresses styled poker straight and tucked behind her ears, whilst celebrity makeup artist Nina Park created soft face glam that placed emphasis on her impressively glowing skin.

In her awards acceptance speech, HoYeon said: “One day I would wonder," Am I too much?” and the next day I’d ask myself, “Am I enough?”. And through it all I have come to understand that in order to be fearlessly creative, the question that matters is “am I myself?”
GQ’s new awards gala “celebrates the world’s most fearless and inspiring creatives”. Apple CEO Tim Cook, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino and British fashion designer Grace Wales Bonner – founder of the eponymous label Wales Bonner – were also honourees on the night.
