If you haven’t watched Mia Regan’s outfit of the day videos on Instagram, you’re seriously missing out. The 20-year-old model often uploads videos to her story listing where her outfit was sourced and plays her song of the day over the top. Yesterday (much to our delight) she even involved boyfriend Romeo Beckham: another of their many stylish couple moments.
Her sartorial versatility is impressive, from nailing black tie attire for designer dinners with Balmain, to Gen Z cool street style looks with her favourite finds on Depop: and her latest Instagram video she proved just that. She schooled us on blending vintage pieces with current collaborations and epic designer accessories. But it wouldn’t be a Mimi Moocher look without us pining over one of her retro pieces, and today her chunky leather belt that boasted a large gold buckle and two gold studded loops, threw us straight back to 2003.

Every cool girl on the planet owned a belt of similar width in the 2000s: from A-listers to… well, us. The bigger the belt the better, and like almost every unexpected trend from the Y2K era, statement belts are making a comeback. The Gen-Z TikTok fashionista’s are currently rocking Sienna Miller-esque boho disc belts, and we think they might be onto something...
Diesel, who we know love a good belt, introduced a series of chunky belts in its pre-fall 2023 collection, including metallic leather, extra wide and grunge-era holed belts that also dominated during that time – Avril Lavigne, we’re looking at you.
Mia's juxtaposing ensemble consisted of a siren red padded jacket from Ganni’s collaboration with Barbour (the style muse is also an outerwear aficionado, often wearing jackets from cool-girl Icelandic brand 66 North) paired with a vintage black maxi skirt boasting abstract 70s style detailing across the bottom. She's also pretty iconic when it comes to 70s dressing as proven by the coolest flared trousers she wore to an event in Shoreditch. A pair of chunky Ganni boots were her choice of footwear and she accessoried with a burgundy Isabel Marant Oskan bag that she’d styled as an It-girl crossbody, and of course her iconic belt.
The Y2K gift that keeps on giving.
