David Morris - The Coronation Ring and Tiara

In honour of this remarkable national occasion David Morris is set to unveil the Coronation Ring and Tiara. Celebrating a pivotal moment in British history, these exceptional High Jewellery creations and collector’s pieces are inspired by the London High Jewellery house’s proud British heritage and links to the royal family.

The Coronation Ring takes its inspiration from three colours that are synonymous with the Union Jack, the Flag of Great Britain: red, white and blue. Conveying this famous combination of colours in a spiral of precious gems, the High Jewellery unisex ring showcases more than seven carats of red spinels and diamonds alongside a beautifully saturated 17.30 carat cushion cut blue spinel. Designed in David Morris’s design studio on London’s Bond Street, rows of diamonds swirl around the vivid centre stone and clusters of red spinels, creating waves of light. The 17.30 carat blue spinel was specially sourced for the Coronation Ring by Jeremy Morris. "Blue is a colour that is closely associated with royalty and this wonderful spinel perfectly expresses why," explains Morris, "The colour is so bright and intense and its brilliance simply mesmerising. It is rare to find a blue spinel. Even rarer still is a spinel displaying such an incredible deep violet-blue hue, which rivals the finest sapphires."

Set to be broadcast all over the world, this kind of major royal event always results in a flurry of tiara enquiries at David Morris, and their boutique on Bond Street will have just the jewel for the occasion: the Coronation Tiara. The ultimate jewel in which to celebrate the Coronation Weekend, or any special event that calls for an exquisite diadem, this unique piece reinterprets the elongated petals of the Trillium flower in a contemporary style. Set with more than 24 carats of diamonds, a burst of rose-cut diamonds is framed by delicate round stones and set in a wishbone style to curve upwards to a soft point.
