Just like your skin, changing weather conditions can wreak havoc on your hair.
The warmer seasons are one of the biggest culprits when it comes to damage to your tresses, “Summer causes hair loss due to damage caused by heat, chlorine salt water, and sun exposure,” explains esteemed celebrity hairstylist Limoz Logli, and founder of Chelsea's exclusive Limoz Logli Salon, “Hair can be brittle, dry, and prone to damage after summer.”

How do I protect my hair during summer?
To protect the hair, Limoz recommends the regular use of a hair mask using the steps below:
“Always towel dry your hair before using conditioner or a mask. This is going to help you get the most out of your product, rather than the product just being wasted on dripping wet hair."
"Leave at least three inches away from your roots, you want to get those front bits but don’t want to put product directly onto your scalp."
"Always use a leave in moisture - hair oils and creams are great, bonus points if it has heat protection in it."
"If you have a natural wave or movement to your hair - Oribe Moisture and Control is our favourite to deeply moisturise the hair."
"After washing you want to towel dry your hair by using a scrunching motion with a small towel to create more neater waves and less frizz."
"If you have slightly finer hair and want to create more volume, after shampoo and conditioner you can use the Oribe Maximista Spray everywhere to help add some volume and texture.”

How do I style my hair after applying a hair mask?
“Rough dry the hair to around 80 per cent dry before using a round brush to finish styling the hair.”
“If you do have finer hair, do not overheat the hair, the hotter then the hair the flatter it will be. You want to use medium pressure and medium heat.”
What products are best for dry and sun damaged hair?
“We absolutely love the Redken Acidic Bonding Concentrate Intensive Treatment,” says Limoz “It’s an in salon treatment for damaged hair but they also have a range of shampoo, conditioner and leave-in serum you can use at home. This is the perfect blend of protein and moisture and is really going to help strengthen and moisturise your hair against the sun.”
