Long-lasting nail polish devotees you are in luck, there is a new power play in the world of manicures and they are taking the world of gel nails by storm.

Bio Sculpture promises to last longer than your average gel nails and also delivers on nail health thanks to its unique product range. “Bio Sculpture was the first gel to market 35 years ago. It is the only brand in the world that makes its nail technicians train before they can use the brand,” explains Venetia Archer, founder of mobile beauty concierge app Ruuby, which offers Bio Sculpture manicures on its platform, “This ensures that you receive an amazing manicure every time.”

We spoke to Venetia to find out more, here’s everything you need to know about Bio Sculpture:

What is Bio Sculpture?

"Bio Sculpture is a gel that is good for your nails, it lasts for 3 weeks with a high gloss shine. It adds strength to your nails, it cares for your nails and improves them and offers you a completely tailored experience every time you have a Bio Sculpture manicure."

What is the difference between Bio Sculpture and Shellac?

“Bio Sculpture is 100% gel, shellac is a hybrid of gel and polish.”

What are the advantages of Bio Sculpture?

According to the brand the advantages are healthier, stronger, longer nails, and a completely curated treatment that is based on your nail type and nail health. “It is designed to improve your nails - this starts with a consultation of your nails – assessing their needs and how we can help them to improve,” says Venetia, “Every Bio Sculpture manicure includes a treatment that is placed under the Bio Sculpture gel manicure. This is like your hair mask – it is designed to improve your nail health.”

“The technician then assesses your nail type and chooses the correct base to suit your nail type. Think of it like face cream, you wouldn’t use the same cream for skin that is combination, sensitive or dry. By choosing the right base product it means your nails last for up to three weeks with no chipping and lifting. A Bio Sculpture manicure lasts as they can change the base to suit your nail type to ensure maximum longevity."

Is Bio Sculpture better than Shellac for your nails?

According to Bio Sculpture the manicures are "superior to traditional gel manicures" as they treat your nail, last longer and add strength to your nail.

How do you remove Bio Sculpture?

To remove bio sculpture, “Simply soak it off with gel remover and foil wraps,” says Venetia. Like you would a regular gel manicure.
