Emily Ratajkowski is at it again. Nonchalantly influencing our summer wishl ist like it’s her job.
After the supermodel wore a slinky cut out dress to Gigi Hadid’s 27th birthday party in April 2022, we knew the daring trend was going to be one everybody was going to swiftly follow suit. She then wore a semi-sheer black lace and beaded Miu Miu gown with spaghetti straps and an empire waistline to last year’s Cannes film festival in May. What was the biggest trend for the rest of 2022? Sheer dresses. That seemed to get evermore transparent as the year went on...

Now the 31-year-old has fronted Loewe’s summer ‘23 collaboration with Paula’s Ibiza (co-branded as Loewe Paula's Ibiza) in the ultimate summer version of the much loved sheer dress trend.
The model, who also hosts her eponymous HighLow with EmRata podcast, wore a black string bikini with a chunky, auburn coloured net maxi that we’re already desperate to buy. The dress boasted spaghetti straps and a mid length, distressed fringed hem.
Though the actual brand is 178 years old, it has become a fashionista favourite since Jonathan Anderson’s take over in 2013, and there was undoubtedly no summer bag as popular as Loewe’s basket bag in 2022. The distinguishable raffia was born in 2017 alongside the Loewe's first ever collaboration with Paula’s Ibiza, and we’d say it has officially made its way into iconic bag territory.

Loewe and Paula’s have been collaborating on summer capsule collections ever since, and playful netted pieces have been an integral part of its laid-back, beach-clad, cool-girl dress code year after year. Alongside new, metallic, large font and colourful editions to the basket bag family (proving statement accessories are the way to go this summer), this new season collection features crochet clothing in neutral colourways, taking the minimalism trend straight from spring to summer.
