So when we found out she was releasing a high ummer collection with Donatella Versace, May 23 was a date that went straight into our calendars. And Cannes proved to be the perfect canvas to showcase a stunning high summer collection that will go down in history.
Cannes was the perfect canvas for the playful summer collection
The British singer-cum fashion designer showcased the collaboration during the Cannes Film Festival. Not only is this Dua's first design collab, but it's the first time Versace have opened the floor to a co-collaborator in this way.
Dua has a penchant for Versace bandage dresses, therefore it was only right she donned the same silhouette for the closing of the show. She dazzled in the Medusa cut-out gown from the collection which boasted cutouts around the chest and a cross-strap neckline.

The collection titled La Vacanza was quite literally the holiday wardrobe of dreams. Dua said on the collection: “Donatella and I bonded over our shared love of this time of year while making this collection. Digging throughthe archives we discovered we were drawn to a lot of the same references which was such an inspiring andfulfilling process. La Vacanza ranges from metallic miniskirts and sexy bikinis, to butterfly rings and printedpieces inspired by the Versace SS ’95 collection. There’s always an occasion to wear Versace, and I know I’llbe spending my days (and nights!) in La Vacanza all summer long.”

Of course, the guestlist was as decadent as the outfits. The likes of Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Jason Statham, Simone Ashley and Lewis Hamilton stepped out in style to watch from the 'frow'.
From printed pieces inspired by Versace's SS95 collection, to ultra chic black evening dresses and Barbiecore-approved metallic minis (apt considering Dua is starring in the new Barbie movie next month), Dua and Donatella's collection boasted every type of look neccessary for the ultimate elevated, cool-girl, playful summer wardrobe.
Announcing the news, the sartorial maestro's uploaded a black and white Instagram image saying: “The news is out! We are excited to announce the Versace “La Vacanza” women’s collection, which we have co-designed. We will be showing the collection on Tuesday 23rd May in Cannes, France. We cannot wait to show you what we have created!”
This year’s film festival is a momentous occasion for the 27-year-old. All eyes were on for her first appearance on the red carpet. Not only because she debuted an exquisite new French-girl fringe alongside her slinky cut-out Celine gown, but also because it was her first appearance with her new beau Romain Gavras.

Dua is an undoubted Versace muse. She opened and closed the Italian label’s SS22 show, posed with Donatella at 2022’s Grammy awards, and sported a slew of iconic Versace looks on the red carpet (shoutout to her vintage AW92 at said Grammy’s).
