We can always rely on Sofia Richie to provide fashion and beauty inspiration that we can’t get enough of.

Alongside always wearing an outfit we’re desperate to recreate, the 25-year-old always provides cool-girl manicure inspiration, from feminine lavender hues to the classic Opi ‘funny bunny' neutral shade she wore for her Chanel-clad South of France wedding. And her nails of choice this October are almost identical to the Princess of Wales unexpected Easter manicure, proving the look is utterly perfect all year round.

Taking to TikTok and sharing one of her iconic ‘get ready with me’ videos with her 3.4 million followers, the sartorial icon and daughter of Lionel Richie re-wore a cap-sleeved bodysuit from Chanel’s SS22 collection that boasted a square neckline and the chicest satin bow across the chest. Giving her overall look a more demure feel than when she previously paired it with a see-through skirt, Sofia opted for high-waisted, wide-leg trousers and an elasticated Chanel belt.

Whilst applying her make-up (effortlessly creating her usual ‘less is more’ natural-looking glam), her followers get a glimpse at her glossy wine-red manicure.

Though we typically sport a specific nail design for specific seasons (pastels for spring, brighter colours during summer, for example) Sofia and the Princess of Wales have proven that a classic red nail is perfect all year round.

In case you missed it, Princess Kate shocked beauty fanatics this Easter with her ‘rule-breaking’ nails. Completely contrasting her electric blue Catherine Walker dress, Kate eschewed her typical super-neutral Essie nail polish shades and opted for a crimson red manicure.

The Princess of Wales sported a surprising red manicure this Easter

“According to royal etiquette, fake nails or brightly-coloured nails are reportedly not appropriate for public appearances,” explains Hello!’s Georgia Brown. It turns out both the Hollywood It-girl and the royal fashion icon were totally on-trend with their similar nail choices in both spring and autumn.

"A red manicure never goes out of style," Venetia Archer, founder of mobile beauty app Ruuby previously told Hello! Fashion. "While we may play with darker berry tones, or brighter apple reds… it’s a failsafe. We always ask that our nail technicians bring a minimum of eight red shades because it’s always a go-to."

Fashionistas including Alexa Chung, Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber have also unsurprisingly sported a red manicure this autumn, intensifying this season’s red-everything fashion trend.

Unsure which colour to choose at the nail salon next? Sofia and Kate have just proved that a shade of red is always a safe bet.
