Stuck for ideas on what to dress as for Halloween? Maybe you want to keep things casual and pass off your PJs as Zoë Kravitz’s 'Mornings Suck Vampire' costume. Or, perhaps you’re gearing up to go all out, channelling Kylie Jenner as Frankenstein's Bride? Whatever your modus operandi this spooky season, if you’re still undecided then look no further because we’re about to take a deep dive into the archives and rank the Halloween Queen, Heidi Klum's most outrageous dress-up looks.

Although not her official title, we can’t help but coin Klum as the spooky season queen. Let's be real, the woman dressed up as a worm and literally wriggled down the red carpet…

Last night the Halloween alum threw her 23rd Annual Halloween Party at the Hard Rock Hotel New York, with a stacked guest list to match, including Marc Jacobs, Charli D'Amelio, Nicole Scherzinger and Alex Consani.

If you look closely, you can just see Heidi's face peeping through the prosthetic's

Each and every year Heidi tries her best to top her costume from the year before, this year deciding on a seriously convincing E.T. ensemble which took upwards of 10 hours to create and featured hundreds of prosthetics.

The supermodel out did herself this year

Stepping onto the red carpet accompanied by a dry ice smoke cloud, Heidi and her incredibly intricate costume had fans swooning and questioning whether or not it was in fact the real alien from the 1982 cult classic film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

Without further ado, let's throw things back to some of Heidi's most outrageous Halloween looks and rate them fairly out of 10…

1/11

A Peacock: 9/10

For her 22nd annual party in 2023, the supermodel's outfit was once again brilliantly bizarre, unexpected and wildly OTT. She dressed a bright blue peacock accompanied by not one, but ten people dressed in flamboyant green outfits to create a dramatic feather effect, with a helping hand from Cirque du Soleil's creative director Michel Laprise.

Michel explained there were around 40 people involved throughout the process, the peacock was Heidi's idea and there was actual choreography involved to help bring the bird to life. This  truly iconic costume gets a 9/10 for reasons that need no explanation.

A Giant Worm: 6/10

Disturbing is one word for Heidi’s 2022 costume. I’ll be honest, at first glance I was getting more ‘pig in blanket’ than a giant worm, and for that reason, I give this look a 6/10. Dedication is on point, however.

An Alien Experiment Gone Wrong: 9/10

Most definitely her most gruesome costume to date, this masterpiece is what the spooky season is all about. A round of applause is needed for her special FX team, as word on the street is that this gorey getup took over 10 hours to create. 9/10 because even as a disfigured alien, she still wore heels.

4/11

Princess Fiona: 8.5/10

Look at the feet. I repeat, look at the feet. Every inch of this costume was made with such attention to detail it almost looked like she stepped right out of the swamp and onto the red carpet. This look is most definitely one of the more obtainable of Heidi's Halloween looks, and for that, I give it a solid 8.5/10

5/11

Thriller Werewolf: 8/10

In 2017 the Halloween queen embodied Michael Jackson's thriller werewolf ensemble  so well that people actually thought Michael had come back for the occasion. Though not Heidi's most original look, she gets extra points the impeccable special FX makeup.

6/11

Klum and Co: 8/10

This is hands down one of my favourites because it takes a special kind of someone (and funding) to hire five lookalikes, dress them up as yourself just well enough so people understand the gag, but not so much that they outdo you at your own party. 8/10.

7/11

Jessica Rabbit: 10/10

One word - Iconic. The dress, the gloves, the hair, the eyebrows, the shoes. Did I mention the gloves? I know it’s a costume, but I can’t lie, If you look through my browser history you will find a Google search for 'long latex gloves buy online' and it’s unlikely that I’m the only one… 10/10.

8/11

Someone's Granny: 7/10

I’m not mad, but I’m also not happy. Yes, the prosthetics are amazing, her skin, nails, hair and everything look as though she really did age 40 years, but I would have loved it if she dressed up as herself at 90 because that would have been the spookier. So much potential, love the pearls. 7/10.

9/11

A Woman With No Skin?: 9/10

The jury is still out on what the actual title of this masterpiece is, but whatever she is, it's frankly quite terrifying. I would have given this a 7/10 but it gains two extra points because of the crazy high heels and the fact that she was wheeled onto the red carpet by doctors on an autopsy table. 9/10.

10/11

An In Love Ape: 10/10

For her second costume of 2011, Heidi and her then husband Seal dressed as apes to kiss on the red carpet at the PH-D Rooftop Lounge in NYC. In my expert opinion this choice of get-up is everything a Halloween costume should be- weird, wacky, shocking and just the right amount of scary.

11/11

Lady Godiva: 3/10

Back in the early aughts Klum wore an all-white diamanté encrusted bodysuit (hot), leather lace-up boots (even hotter), metallic winged liner and my favourite piece, which is saying something, the diamond webbed headpiece. This one gets a 3/10 from moi due to the fact the horse is straight up not having a good time and the extensions are in need of a little oil and brush.
