DIY queens listen up. It’s time to dust off the bead collection, hunt high and low for dainty charms, cut up old lace and look through that drawer filled with miscellaneous junk because we’re getting crafty.
Worn by some of Hollywood's most famed faces and fashion icons alike including Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Kate Moss (to name but a few), the Adidas Samba has taken out the top spot for this year's most renowned sneaker by a landslide, but you already knew that.
Although first introduced back in 1949, the silhouette with the three stripes has become so famous over the past year that walking down the street or scrolling your FYP without seeing them is a rare occurrence. However, like any fashion must-have that rises to fame, it quickly becomes apparent that perhaps they don't exude the fashionable flare you once thought.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a Samba’s as much as the next, especially the silver chrome Wales Bonner collab, but no one likes to be a carbon copy of the person walking next to them. So, if you’re like me, and on the hunt to continuously differ from the rest then customisation is the only way.

4 ways to spruce up your Sambas at home:
Coloured ribbon or lace
We’re in an era where everything looks better adorned with a bow. Swapping out your laces for a coloured ribbon or lace trim instantly elevates and adds a little difference.
Charms
If you’re really crafty, the ultimate Samba spruce has to be the addition of charms. In this case, the more the merrier.
Beads
The easiest way to add a bit of colour is with a few beads. Thread them onto the existing laces to create a pop of colourful creation.
Chains
Whether it’s an old necklace that broke long ago or something a little less sentimental, looping a chain through the eyelets is the perfect way to add a subtle style statement.
