Statement doors: Make the best possible first impression on your guests with a colourfully painted front door. Saves are up 121 per cent for colourful doors on Pinterest, meaning this is a key trend to try this year.

Sage: It may not have been named Pantone's colour of the year, but sage is proving hugely popular with Pinterest users as a new neutral tone to try. Saves are up by 170 per cent.
