We may soon be about to welcome the Year of the Dog, but Asda has declared 2018 the Year of the Unicorn! Just a few months after wowing shoppers with their amazing unicorn birthday cake, the supermarket has launched a homeware collection devoted entirely to the mythical creatures - and it's causing a stir online! The collection, available at George at Asda, features everything from lights and cushions to bedding, with prices from as little as £3. It was launched to meet huge demand from customers, with Asda revealing they tracked a huge 79,000 searches for unicorns on the George website in December alone.
The range will no doubt prove popular with children and adults alike; along with reversible bed covers and unicorn print cushions that will give kids' bedrooms a magical update, there are also unicorn-shaped mugs, teapots, and even a Tefal unicorn frying pan that allows you to create pancakes in the shape of the mythical creature - just in time for Pancake Day!

MORE: Gordon Ramsay has his say on the unicorn trend
George Homeware Designer Natalie Ratcliffe explained: "This is the third unicorn range for George and we fully expect this one to be as successful, if not more so, than the previous. The difference in this range is that we've responded to the overwhelming demand for a more 'grown-up' selection of products, and given the customers exactly what they want – the unicorn has officially graduated, in terms of style, for 2018."
She continued: "We knew nostalgia would be a key player this year as part of Cosmic Retro but the unicorn as a standalone micro trend is still going from strength to strength, so for all those unicorn fans out there, you’ve got a lot to look forward to."
The collection is proving popular with customers
Since its launch, the collection has proved a hit with shoppers. "Can someone buy me all of the new unicorn range in Asda please?" one customer tweeted. Another commented: "Asda's home unicorn selection is a dream." What do you think of the collection?
