An Aldi rocking chair which sold out within one-minute of going on sale in Australia is coming to the UK this weekend – and it's a must for new mums! The stylish grey chair, which is ideal for feeding or bonding with your baby, is being launched in the UK as part of the supermarket's Baby and Toddler Specialbuys event on Sunday.

Priced at £149.99, it's a steal compared to similar chairs on the market, and it is a piece you'll be able to get use from for years to come, as it can also be converted into a classic armchair. It will be available to order online from Sunday 15 April, before launching in stores nationwide four days later.

The chair is just one of many budget-friendly pieces of nursery furniture available in the event; you'll also be able to buy a baby highchair for £19.99, or a three drawer tower storage unit for £12.99. Meanwhile, other essentials include the Mamia baby carrier, which offers the perfect way to get out and about with your little one this spring, at just £13.99. Or invest in the travel booster seat (£11.99), which will ensure your growing toddler is safe in the car.

STORY: How to design a royal-inspired nursery

Julie Ashfield, Joint Managing Director of Corporate Buying at Aldi, said: "We pride ourselves at being able to offer parents excellent quality baby and toddler products at a fraction of the price offered by competitors. We are particularly excited by the Accent Rocking Chair, the perfect way to deck out your nursery, without breaking the bank."

A number of mothers are turning to high street stores and supermarkets to kit out their children's nurseries. Among them is The Mummy Diaries star Sam Faiers, who recently showcased her son Paul's incredible toy room on Instagram, with many of the pieces available on the high street. They included a white cabin bed from Next, which she had decorated with The Jungle Book stickers from Amazon and a fluffy sheet from Dunelm, which costs just £15.

Even the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge admitted they have used high-street furniture in Prince George and Princess Charlotte's rooms – opting for pieces from IKEA to furnish the children's bedrooms at their London home.
