Kristen Stewart has officially begun filming as Princess Diana in Spencer on location at Schlosshotel Kronberg, which was chosen to represent the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The Sandringham estate is owned by the Queen, while the Princess of Wales often spent the Christmas period there before splitting from Prince Charles.

According to a press release, the film is set in 1991 and follows Diana as she "spends the Christmas holiday with the royal family at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, and decides to leave her marriage to Prince Charles".

Schlosshotel Kronberg makes the ideal double for Sandringham – not least is it one of Germany's most majestic buildings, it also has royal links. The latest photo shared on the official Schlosshotel Kronberg Instagram account revealed one of the guest bedrooms. According to the caption, it was renovated by renowned interiors designer Nina Campbell, complete with elegant wallpaper and creative furnishings.

A deluxe bedroom at Schlosshotel Kronberg comes with a separate lounge and dining area, as well as a bedroom.

The Royal Suite of Schlosshotel Kronberg has been touted as "one of the most extraordinary in Germany". The space is currently being expanded to include a dressing room and new, luxury bathroom.

The Schlosshotel Kronberg's Blue Saloon is designed for intimate dinners, and exudes elegance with large chandeliers and delicate crockery.

Schlosshotel Kronberg Bar

The palace has its own bar, named Jimmy's bar, designed with a warm, wooden theme.
