Lord Ivar Mountbatten, King Charles III's second cousin, has announced his plans to sell his sprawling Devon home Bridwell Park Estate.
Queen Victoria's great-great-great-grandson has lived at the Grade I listed Georgian house since 1997. He previously shared it with his ex-wife Penny and kids Ella, 28, Alix, 25, and Luli, 21, but he now lives with his husband James Coyle.
However, the pair are set for a big change-up, as they revealed they are placing the £5.5 million property – which features an orangery, a chapel and a 100-acre deer park – on the open market in the search for investors. "This is a strategic decision which forms part of our wider plans. Our aim is to find an investor to join us as we carefully review how we can make best use of the house and the Parkland," they wrote, reassuring visitors they will still be welcome to Birdwell during this process.
Ivar and James, who got married in 2018, have opened the doors to the private property with events such as The Mix Music Festival, the Queer Spirit Festival, the annual bonfire celebrations and even wedding events.
