Monty Don left his Instagram fans reeling when he shared before and after footage of his own private garden – and the transformation was astounding.

The caption read: "Paradise garden- same view today and midsummer." The first image was taken ahead of spring, showing his garden on a dull and wet English day where his pots and trees were bare. However, the second slide was a video of his vibrant and charming garden come summertime – and it blew everyone away.

The camera panned across Monty's enchanting outdoor space which was shown to be filled with an array of beautiful flowers and wildlife. The focus was on giant lilies in the foreground while a calming water feature could be seen in the background adding another tranquil element to the space.

Fans expressed their amazement at the transformation of Monty's private space in the comments section. One penned: "Amazing the transformation," while another added: "Unbelievable difference!"

Others were specifically taken by the water feature in the centre of the garden. "Love the water feature," one wrote and: "That water fountain is fantastic," said another.
Clearly gearing up for the warmer days ahead, Monty subsequently shared a picture of the inside of his potting shed where he spent a drizzly Wednesday prepping for the forthcoming season.
We can't wait to see Monty's joyful garden spring to life again, and it sounds like his Instagram following are keen for that too!

The star did disappoint fans earlier in the year though when he revealed that there are no plans to bring back Big Dreams, Small Spaces. But there is hope as Monty explained to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 that he would be willing to do it again.
Monty explained to Zoe: "There are no plans, but I would love to. If anyone from the BBC is listening to that, myself and the production team would love to do more Big Dreams, Small Spaces. We've been asking the BBC about it for a number of years so watch this space. But as of yet, I am afraid not."
