During the Second World War, the Queen's family paid a visit to their Norfolk home of Sandringham where a beautiful photograph was taken showing off the glorious wheat fields.

This unique feature would have been a real benefit for the property and thus the family, as the wheat would have been harvested during a time of rationing. The grounds were actually converted to farmland at the time to help with the war effort.

The photo showed the monarch with her sister, Princess Margaret, and their parents King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.

The official Instagram account for the Sandringham Estate shared the image, writing: "Walking through a wheat field, August 1943. King George VI, Queen Elizabeth, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret inspecting the Harvest at Sandringham.

"The Royal Family spent most of the Second World War in London or Windsor but here we see them enjoying a moment in the Norfolk countryside away from the troubles of war.

One fan penned: "An amazing photo! We love seeing all the history that belongs to all our wonderful country estates, castles and palaces."

The image showed Her Majesty looking rather smart for her outdoor pursuit, wearing a button up dress and blazer combo.

Earlier this year, a never-before-seen picture of the Queen emerged also taken on her Sandringham Estate. However, this time, the royal went for a much more casual ensemble, sporting a cardigan, tartan skirt and gilet.

Sandringham is usually the Queen's location of choice for Christmas, but it looks as though Her Majesty must have been enjoying the 600-acre estate at a different time of year when this photo was taken, as the blossom on the trees is out in force, and the former black-and-white shot was taken in August.
