However, instead of showing off the vast estate, they were greeted by an unexpected visitor in the form of a black bear patrolling the grounds.

The bear seemed to be taking in the entire surroundings, first climbing onto the deck, walking past their back door, and then strolling away through their driveway.

"Look for the bear necessities," Al quipped. "A #sundaymorning visitor upstate. I think he was hoping for a #bearclaw for brunch."

Many of his fans embraced the comedic tone as well, with one commenting: "He smelled your sizzling bacon!!" and another agreeing by adding: "He saw all that delicious food you post on Instagram and was looking for his plate! Salmon is a bear's favorite fish!"

Al shared that a black bear visited his upstate home

However, quite a few were a little concerned given the sometimes unpredictable nature of bears, as one wrote: "Yikes!!! Be careful," another shared: "My son in Ct had 4 black bears in his yard that destroyed their bird feeder," and a third also said: "Omg that bear is creeping ALL around the house!!!"

Al often splits his time between his home upstate and his beautiful residence in New York City, where he spends a majority of his year with wife Deborah Roberts and son Nick.

The family did move upstate full-time when the pandemic first began in 2020, with Deborah recently sharing a message that harkened back to that time.

The ABC journalist posted a bathroom selfie of herself that she stated was from when they first moved, and added a positive thought to it.

Deborah shared her message of positivity with fans

She wrote: "Thursday thoughts. Two years ago I took this pic. The reality of our new pared down and uncertain reality was sinking in."

Deborah continued: "I was just beginning to make a decision to choose hope over despair. Hard days were ahead but like many of you, occasionally I found reason to smile. This was meant to be my stark reminder to always look for light. #tbt."
