King Charles III's coronation is fast approaching, and ahead of the stately occasion the monarch has been given a special gift – and all was revealed on Instagram.
The Sandringham House account @sandringham1870 posted two photographs of a beautiful plant being planted, and it in bloom one month on. The caption explained: "His Majesty The King recently received a Rhododendron ‘Amalfi’ gifted @exburygardens - renowned for its spring colour and world-famous collection of rhododendrons and azaleas. We are delighted to see the ‘Amalfi’ thriving in the Sandringham Gardens. [Swipe] to see when it was planted a month ago to how it looks today."
One image showed a gardener ensuring it was safely in the ground and the other revealed the glorious pink flowers blossoming in the spring.
"Gorgeous" and "A lovely gift" were among the comments left on the post, and we can't help but agree – how lovely!
It is unknown if the monarch has had a chance to see the plant in person yet, but as a keen gardener we are sure he will be set on admiring it on his next visit to Norfolk.
Elsewhere in the gorgeous Sandringham grounds, Charles has spearheaded a mammoth project for an overhaul of the existing space.

Diggers have already got to work removing the lawn to make way for a topiary garden, and when an update was shared online, the caption read: "Progress in the Garden. The West Lawn redevelopment project now has many of the Yew trees and metal edging for the new beds laid out so the symmetrical areas can really be seen starting to take shape. Next steps are to add in the herbaceous plants in the coming weeks."
The plan is for the project to be complete by mid-May ready for the house's summer visitors to enjoy. In fact, the official website reads that the project has been sanctioned with them in mind, in order to create "joy for visitors and increase biodiversity" at the same time.
