Days before his shocking death at age 54, Matthew Perry made a long-awaited return to social media, posting a string of Instagram posts from his home after spending nearly six months away from the platform. Just five days ago, in fact, in what would be his final photo, the Emmy nominee sits in his jacuzzi at night time. Tragically, reports claim that the star was first found unresponsive in his Jacuzzi on Friday, October 27.

The home seen in the final Instagram posts appeared to be his  new $5 million Hollywood Hills midcentury home, which he reportedly acquired earlier this year.

He shared a scenic nighttime photo from his lawn on what looked to be his  infinity pool or an awning as the Californian skyline peeked out from behind.

What  drew the attention of his followers, however, was the brightly lit red Batman symbol front and center, and Matthew  captioned his photo: "Sleep well everybody, I've got the city tonight – Mattman."

In the last post, shared October 23, Matthew sits in his hot tub under the moonlight with headphones on.

"Oh, so warm water swirling around makes you feel good? I'm Mattman," reads the caption.

The Friends star kept his presence on social media limited soon after the release of his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and The Big Terrible Thing, last November, in which he was frank and unsparing as he shared his battle with drug and alcohol addiction. According to TMZ and additional outlets, Matthew was found unresponsive at home by his assistant on Friday, and paramedics were called to the property to respond to a cardiac arrest. No drugs were found at the scene.

"Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family," Warner Bros. said in a statement. "The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. This is a heartbreaking day."

A description of the confessional release reads: "In an extraordinary story that only he could tell – and in the heartfelt, hilarious, and warmly familiar way only he could tell it – Matthew Perry lays bare the fractured family that raised him (and also left him to his own devices), the desire for recognition that drove him to fame, and the void inside him that could not be filled even by his greatest dreams coming true.

Matthew's dad is John Bennett Perry, an actor and former model who many followers of the actor recognized from his cameo in an episode of season four of Friends, playing Mr. Burgin, the father of Rachel Green's new boyfriend Joshua.
