Cameron Diaz' Early Life
Born August 30, 1972 in San Diego, California, Cameron was raised in Los Angeles, the daughter of a Cuban-American father, Emilio, and Anglo-German mother, Billie.
Her time in high-school foreshadowed her star-studded future. She was friends with Snoop Dogg, and at 16, signed a modeling contract with Elite Model Management, through which she landed campaigns for Calvin Klein, Levi's, Coca-Cola, and more, plus she was featured on the cover of the July 1990 issue of Seventeen magazine.
Cameron Diaz' Acting Career
Cameron made her film debut, and subsequently became a household name, when she was 19 and starred opposite Jim Carrey in The Mask, one of the top ten highest-grossing films of 1994.
She found further success My Best Friend's Wedding with Julia Roberts, There's Something About Mary with Ben Stiller, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe, Being John Malkovich with John Cusack (this also earned her a Golden Globe nomination), Charlie's Angels with her best friend Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu, The Holiday with Kate Winslet, and more.
After a 2014 role on a movie adaptation of Annie, Cameron announced she would be retiring from acting. Almost ten years later, she announced she was making her comeback with an action movie starring Jamie Foxx titled Back In Action.
Cameron Diaz' Personal Life
Throughout the years, Cameron has been romantically linked to Matt Dillon, Jared Letto, Justin Timberlake, and Alex Rodríguez.
In 2015, she married Good Charlotte member Benji Madden, ten months after Nicole Richie, his sister-in-law via his brother and fellow Good Charlotte member Joel Madden, introduced them.
The couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Raddix, in December 2019 via surrogate.
