Scottish actor Clive plays Brynden Tully in HBO's hit series Game of Thrones

Scottish-born Clive trained as a teacher before following his former drama coach onto the stage. Regular TV appearances include Hope And Glory and Great Expectations

He has also shared the big screen with Ralph Fiennes in Oscar And Lucinda and played Helfdane in The Thirteenth Warrior

Television audiences will also recognise him as Shameless's Billy Wilson and the charming Callum from Being April.

His Early Life

Clive was born in the North Riding of Yorkshire, England but brought up in Fife, Scotland from 3 months old. 

He trained as a teacher before later taking over a theatre in Bolton – a decision which sparked his interest in the world of acting.

His Acting Career

Clive has starred in a plethora of hit TV shows including the likes of Casualty, Shetland, Outlander, and more recently, HBO's Game of Thrones.

On the big screen, meanwhile, Clive has appeared in a gamut of hit films such as Ladies in Lavender, Sherlock Holmes, The Wolfman, The Wicker Tree and King Arthur.
