Early life
Maxwell Caulfield was born on November 23, 1959 in Derbyshire, England. After landing a role in the 1967 film Accident when he was just seven years old, the future Dynasty star moved to the US to kick start an acting career as a teenager, and made his stage debut in 1979's Class Enemy.
But it was in 1982 that Maxwell captured lots of attention with his role in the Grease sequel Grease 2. Following this further roles followed in the films Electric Dreams, Gettysburg and The Man Who Knew Too Little in 1997.
But the actor is still perhaps best known for his successful TV career, which he kickstarted in 1985 by playing bad-boy Miles Colby in Dynasty. Maxwell later starred in shows including All My Children, Casualty and Murder, She Wrote. Though best-known for his TV work, he did also continue performing on the stage and is an acclaimed theatre actor.
Personal life
Maxwell has been married to Grey's Anatomy star Juliet Mills since 1980. When asked whether their relationship was love at first sight for the pair, Juliet told Mail Online in 2019: "I suppose so. We were instant friends, immediately attracted. I believe in reincarnation and I believe I'd known Maxwell in another life. It was like saying, 'Oh hello, there you are.'" "It was a full-blown romance," Maxwell continued. "There was a connection on a psychic level. It was instantaneous for us both."
