The cheeky Essex boy is a reality TV personality who was the ultimate ladies' man on The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE). Viewers were gripped as Mark, who is known for his perfectly coiffed hair and year-round tan, broke hearts all over the county. He had relationships with several co-stars including Lauren Goodger, whom he dated on and off for nine years, Sam Faiers and Lucy Mecklenburgh.
Mark Wright's marriage to Michelle Keegan
Mark then began dating Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan and declared: "I think everyone knows I wasn't the best boyfriend in the world before but this time it's for real." Michelle is one of the Brit celebrity scene's most desirable ladies and has the awards to prove it. She was regularly crowned TV's sexiest female at the Soap Awards and was previously voted FHM's 4th sexiest woman in the world.
So Mark couldn't believe his luck, lavishing her with holidays and gifts including a £1,000 pair of Christian Louboutin boots. "Two years ago I was reading FHM and now my girlfriend is the best-looking girl in FHM. I do really love her," he said. The couple announced their engagement in 2013 after nine months of dating. For his romantic beachside proposal, the TV favourite chose to return to Dubai where their love blossomed unexpectedly during a New Year's Eve holiday with friends.
Fast forward to 2023 and Mark and Michelle's romance is still going strong. The pair have moved into their dream Essex mansion after months of hard work building the perfect forever home. Impressive features of the Wright/Keegan residence include their very own inside bar and a jaw-dropping sauna and steam room in their pristine master bathroom.
While the pair are yet to have children, they are keen to start a family in the future when the timing is right for both their careers.
Mark Wright's career
Mark, born on 20 January 1987, is not just another pretty face on the box. He is also a nightclub promoter and a semi-professional football player, who played for a number of teams including Tottenham Hotspurs youth club when he was 18. At the end of TOWIE's third season in November 2011, he left to pursue other projects.
The first was I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, in which he came second to McFly's Dougie Poynter. "I feel I have gone as far as I can in TOWIE for the time being. It’s been an amazing platform for me and I have loved every moment of it" he said at the time. "I will miss everyone and the whole experience but when I was asked if I wanted to do the jungle, I really wanted to take the opportunity."
After the creepy crawlies, he took on LA in Mark Wright's Hollywood Nights. This was followed by Take Me Out: The Gossip, which involved backstage interviews from popular dating show Take Me Out. Another project in 2013 Wright off the Beaten Track was due to follow Mark as he organised parties around the world. Normally ultra-confident, he admitted to nerves about the venture. "I know the Essex party scene inside out but I've no idea what to expect about the people I'll be meeting or the parties I'll be throwing."
His heightened profile encouraged him to launch his first collection for Littlewoods' own menswear label Goodsouls. The fashionable TV star previously said that fellow Essex lad David Beckham is his style icon and he would love it if someone like Jamie Redknapp wore his menswear collection because he always keeps it classic and "never tries too hard". "I love everything [Becks] wears. He keeps it classic and simple which is what I like and then when he doesn't, he adds a little twist like he might put a flat peak or a granddad cap on and it will match the colour. Everything he does is just perfect."
