Named for the Queen's father and grandfather, His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge will eventually reign as King George VII of the United Kingdom and 14 other realms around the world. He is the eldest child of Prince William and Princess Kate, who are also parents to Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Prince George's birth
The prince was born on 22 July 2013. His arrival was celebrated with gun salutes in Green Park and the Tower of London, while the bells at Westminster Abbey rang for three hours continuously.
Just over 24 hours after his grand debut, Prince William and Princess Kate showed their newborn off on the steps of the Lindo Wing outside St Mary's Hospital, before whisking him off to the Middleton family home.
Prince George's early life and schooling
In April 2014, just three months before his first birthday, George accompanied his parents on their official three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia and received a very warm welcome.
On 6th January 2016, the young royal started at the Westacre Montessori School nursery in Norfolk. The milestone was marked by his parents, who shared photographs of their son standing in front of the mural on the outside of the nursery building.
From September 2017, Prince George attended Thomas's Battersea School. Following the family's move to Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate, George and his siblings enrolled in Lambrook school in Berkshire.
