Her early life
Georgia Jones, née Georgia Horsley, was born on 6 December in 1986 in North Yorkshire. At the age of two, Georgia was taken into hospital for Meningitis and when she was discharged from hospital the doctors and her parents though she was fully recovered.
However, several years later at a school health check the school nurse discovered that Georgia was deaf in her right ear. "At school it was sometimes difficult. You don't want anything that makes you different but when I struggled to hear I'd get put to the front of the class and I would ask a lot of questions because I hadn't heard everything.
"There was one girl who would call me 'stupid' because I kept asking questions. But I did have a great group of friends and they’d stick up for me," the beautiful blonde explained. When she became Miss England in 2007 and went to China the same year to represent England for the Miss World competition, she kept secret that she was half deaf.
It wasn't until she couldn't hear the number as she was called to the final that she decided to tell everyone the truth. Since then the stunning model has helped and supported people struggling with deafness. In addition to being a gorgeous model, Georgia has 10 GCSEs, three A levels and a diploma in Anatomy and Physiology.
She has a successful commercial modelling career doing television adverts, magazine work and catwalk for brands such as Lee Stafford hair care, Zara Taylor Jewellery, heat magazine and Lisa Blue Swimwear. She is also a co-presenter of W!SARD Radio Station's show, Georgia and James.
