CAMILLA PARKER BOWLES AT THE PALACE FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH THE QUEEN IN RESIDENCE

Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles were together at Buckingham Palace on Monday night for a dinner in honour of the Samaritans’ ambassadors and financial backers. And while Camilla’s presence is nothing new, for the first time ever the Queen was in residence at the palace as well, marking yet another step towards royal acceptance of the Prince’s longtime companion.

Royal aides hint that the unexpected move shows the Queen’s softening of her attitude towards Camilla. The Queen has never before been at the palace while Camilla was staying there, often finding a reason to be elsewhere.

The two women did not cross paths last night, nor have they seen each other since a June reception at Highgrove.

Charles, who recently returned from a brief visit to Spain, will join Camilla later this month when she speaks at a reception for the National Osteoporosis Society. The two were last seen attending the West End production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
