The spurned wife of Princess Stephanie of Monaco’s lover has hit out at her rival in a vitriolic attack published in the German magazine Bunte, in which she described the 36-year-old princess as having a beer belly and porky fingers. Prince Rainier’s youngest daughter struck up a relationship with Swiss circus master, Franco Knie, 46, eight months ago.
“She’s not his type” said 52-year-old Claudine Knie, referring to the Monegasque royal’s affair with her husband of 14 years. “Stephanie is covered in tattoos, she smokes and has fat fingers like sausages.”
“It’s not that she’s ugly – she has a pretty face – but she’s not at all feminine. Once my stepson even said to my husband, ‘To have sex with a girl like that you would have to be gay’.”
Accusing Stephanie of breaking up her marriage and taking Franco – with whom she has a severely disabled 12-year-old son – away from his family, Claudine said: “I don’t think he is thinking with his head, he’s being driven by what’s in his trousers. She just plays the geisha at his side. She is always there to spoil him and she knows what she’s doing. Franco is an extremely loving person, but he is weak.”
On the subject of whether or not the Princess could be carrying her husband’s child, Claudine says: “If Stephanie was pregnant it would only be because she put pressure on Franco. But I don’t believe it. She has a belly because she drinks beer – a lot of beer.”
