Princess Stephanie of Monaco is still happily enjoying her romance with Swiss circus master Franco Knie. Since moving from her Monegasque villa to live in a caravan in order to be closer to her boyfriend, Stephanie has not appeared with her family at any offical functions. Prince Rainier's youngest daughter is pictured here enjoying a day out with Franco and her three children, Louis, Pauline and Camille, at a children’s park just outside the German city of Freiburg.
Attracting a lot of interest from everyone around them, the party played on all of the park’s rides, including a boat and a train. Once again Franco Knie showed that he's perfectly at home with Stephanie’s children, and in fact, the youngest, Camille, spent most of the day in his arms.
The Princess and her partner seem to have weathered the accusations made by Franco Knie’s spurned wife Claudine which appeared in the German magazine Bunte last week. “She’s not his type,” 52-year-old Claudine said, referring to the Monegasque royal’s affair with her husband of 14 years. “Stephanie is covered in tattoos, she smokes and has fat fingers like sausages”.
It is not the first time that the Princess has come in for criticism from Mrs Knie. In March, Claudine admitted that Stephanie had been a good friend of hers, even staying in her house in times of trouble, and said that she felt betrayed by her.
The Princess, far from the world of royal engagements, seems happy in her new life. Although missing the Rose Ball and the Monaco Grand Prix – two of the most important social events on the Monegasque calendar - Stephanie and her children appear to have adapted well to the caravan life, and Pauline has even performed at the circus.
