PRINCE HARRY TO SPEND HIS GAP YEAR IN THE SWISS ALPS

With 19-year-old William just back from his adventures in Africa, Prince Harry has revealed plans for his own gap year. The young royal aims to learn about fine wines and culinary delights while improving his skiing with a job “below stairs” at the Walserhof hotel in Klosters in the Swiss Alps.

Harry, a frequent guest at the luxury resort, reportedly made the decision in April when on holiday at the famed hotel. His friends say he has fallen in love with the picturesque village – population 4,000 – and the nightlife, and aims to spend quality time on the slopes.

Though Harry still has two years left at Eton College, he’s said to be thrilled about the prospect of spending an extended period of time at Klosters, the famed holiday getaway of the jet set and royalty alike where Prince Charles nearly died in an avalanche in 1988.

Prince Harry and his father were set to holiday there in April of this year, and while the 16-year-old went ahead, his father chose to stay behind to show solidarity with farmers reeling from the foot and mouth epidemic.

After scrubbing pans in the kitchen, Harry is likely to travel abroad like his elder brother. Prince William famously toured Chile before milking cows on a dairy farm in the UK and later jetting to Africa for a three-month safari.
