CAMILLA PARKER BOWLES GIVES UP SMOKING FOR GOOD

Camilla Parker Bowles has reportedly quit smoking, much to the delight of Prince Charles, ending her 10 cigarette-a-day habit.

“It wasn’t so much me giving up smoking, rather smoking giving up on me,” she reportedly told a close friend.

"She had a persistent cough which she couldn’t shake off," says the friend. "It wasn’t connected to her smoking but she decided it was a good opportunity. She’s been trying to give up for as long as I have known her but this time she’s given up for good." Camilla reportedly hasn’t had a cigarette in two or three months.

Prince Charles, who briefly toyed with smoking aged 11 after “trying a couple of strong ones behind the chicken shed at school”, is said to be thrilled with the news. He had encouraged Camilla to kick the nasty habit by working with his frequent health advisor Dr Mosaraf Ali.

Charles’ distaste for smoking is well documented, as he once famously asked royal nanny Tiggy Pettifer (neé Legge-Bourke) to go out on the roof of St James’s Palace to smoke.
