Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden celebrated her 24th birthday amongst hundreds of guests on Saturday with a bash on the Oeland Island in the Baltic Sea. Nordic country celebrities from the worlds of music and sports joined the young royal and her family in marking the special occasion.
Victoria, who was recently given a Kate Spade-designed White House tote bag by US First Lady Laura Bush, donned traditional Swedish dress for one of the ceremonies, though changed for the nighttime festivities. Royal staff presented her with a box of her favourite sweets and she was later serenaded by close friends, with a little help from Swedish pop group E-tyle.
As is customary, the charming Victoria awoke early that morning to greet well-wishers, many of whom waited hours outside the royal summer residence in Borgholm to catch a glimpse of the 24-year-old beauty.
Dressed in a peach-coloured suit and flanked by her father King Carl XVI Gustaf, and her mother Queen Silvia, the crown princess accepted flowers and gifts from those gathered, while hugging children and chatting with fans.
