The Queen Mother, who turns 101 years old next week, has expressed a desire to become Britain’s oldest woman. A source at the royal estate in Norfolk, eastern England – where the Queen Mum attended the Sandringham flower show on Wednesday – told one UK tabloid that the elderly royal hopes to beat the current record holder, 113-year-old Amy Humes. “She wants to go on and on,” the source said.

Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, the longest living royal in the history of the British monarchy, spent nearly two hours at the flower show, touring exhibits in her golf buggy alongside Prince Charles. She smiled at her many admirers and, despite the sweltering heat, reportedly looked very comfortable.

“I thought she looked better than she did last year,” said one visitor to the show. “She did marvellously well in this heat. It’s very sticky. It’s got me down today.”
