Mette-Marit Tjessem, the Crown Prince of Norway’s blushing bride-to-be, celebrated her last birthday before becoming a princess this weekend alongside close friends and the royal family. The beauty was showered with gifts for her 28th at the Oslo home she shares with Haakon and her son Marius before heading off to the royal palace to continue the festivities.
The future Princess of Norway and her best friend and maid of honour Linda Tavenik chatted and relaxed together earlier this weekend before Mette-Marit joined the King and Queen of Norway at the palace to toast her special day and probably discuss any last-minute wedding plans. Haakon and his fiancée are set to walk down the aisle on Saturday in the most eagerly anticipated royal nuptials of the year.
Haakon’s elder sister Princess Martha Louise was also on hand to toast Mette-Marit, joined by writer Ari Behn. The 29-year-old’s appearance with the celebrated author sparked rumours that the couple may also have wedding fever.
Haakon and Mette-Marit are to wed on Saturday at the awe-inspiring Oslo Cathedral, which dates back to the 17th century.
