She is young, beautiful and the only female heir to a European throne. He is tall, handsome, and a scion of one of the world’s best-connected royal houses. Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince Nikolaos of Greece also have a lot in common. And these days the attractive pair seem to be getting along famously.
Both grew up in similar circles, both were educated in New York and both fell in love with the famed city and its bright lights. Often thrown into each other’s company as guests at countless celebrations, the pair reportedly enjoyed meeting up again at the fairy-tale wedding of Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and his bride Mette-Marit in August. They were together once more last week at Princess Martha Louise of Norway’s 30th birthday bash, and some speculate that their growing friendship may signal the next big European union.
During the three-day celebrations in honour of the Norwegian princess, which included a romantic boat cruise and two gala dinners, onlookers caught Victoria and Nikolaos smiling affectionately and chatting happily together as they stuck close to each other during the festivities.
While speculation of royal nuptials between the two may be a bit premature, the very possibility has royal watchers in a frenzy. Whether their casual chats and longing glances will turn into something more remains to be seen.
