Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah have appeared together with their children on their annual Christmas card for the first time since their divorce in 1996, leading commentators to renewed speculation about a relationship that has always intrigued.
The picture, taken by a friend last summer, shows Andrew and Sarah, their arms round their two daughters – Beatrice, 13, and eleven-year-old Eugenie – at the couple’s Berkshire home, Sunninghill Park. The four previous cards all showed the two girls on their own.
The Yorks's divorce was never acrimonious, with Sarah describing her former husband as her "bestest friend". The couple take a skiing holiday together with their two daughters each year and, Prince Andrew for one, has not dispelled rumours that he could get back with his ex-wife. "I don't rule remarriage out and I certainly don't rule it in," he said in an interview last year.
In another twist, it is thought that the flame-haired Duchess has drifted apart from her Italian friend, Count Gaddo della Gherardesca. Friends say that the two, who were introduced by millionaire businessman David Tang, have parted company, after they decided that they were spending too much time apart.
