Sarah Ferguson reportedly has a new man in her life: longtime friend and racing driver Rupert Beckwith-Smith. The relationship came to light after the two were seen enjoying an intimate dinner in West London this weekend.
Heading away from the Mayfair restaurant, Sarah and Rupert played it cool after being spotted by photographers. It is said that the pair, who have known each other for quite some time, have taken great care to keep their dating under wraps.
“Its only recently that they started going out together,” one friend told the Daily Mail. “It’s the early days and it is a little too soon to call it a real romance.” A spokesperson for the Duchess refused to comment.
Sarah, 42, met her new beau through Rupert’s elder sister Carolyn Cotterell, a close friend who died of cancer in 1999. Though she'd known Rupert for years, the Duchess grew closer to the handsome 41-year-old after she began fundraising for cancer charities in Carolyn's name.
Fergie, divorced from Prince Andrew, split with Italian count Gaddo della Gheradesca in November after a four-year relationship.
