‘LONELY' PRINCE WILLIAM TAKES FATHER'S ADVICE TO CONTINUE AT ST ANDREWS

Royal heart-throb Prince William has apparently felt isolated and lonely as a student at St Andrews University, and even toyed with the idea of transferring out of Scotland’s oldest university after just a few weeks. However, he has since decided to take his father’s advice to “stick at it”, according to reports.

Over Christmas, William confided to Prince Charles that he had been having difficulty settling in at the quiet, small town university. The 19-year-old Prince, who began a four-year history of art degree at St Andrews last September, reportedly wanted to transfer to the more metropolitan Edinburgh University, or study abroad for a year in Italy or the US.

A royal source told the British newspaper Daily Mail that William, who spends most of his free time at Highgrove or travelling to Edinburgh to see friends, had experienced a “wobble”, but is now back on track at St Andrews. “He became bored and fed up and that made him rather lonely,” said the insider. “Frankly, he was feeling sorry for himself but it was no more than other students' experience when they first go away from home. He’s over it now.”

St James’s Palace has refused to confirm or deny the reports.
