The Prince of Wales escorted Queen Elizabeth on a guided tour of the garden he has dedicated to the memory of his beloved grandmother at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday. Prince Charles guided the Queen past the herbs and plants and together they stood for a moment's silent reflection next to a memorial stone which read “In Loving and Devoted Memory”. The stone is flanked by the “ER” of the Queen Mother and the Prince’s own three-feathered crest.

Writing in Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper, Charles says: “I have called it the Healing Garden and have dedicated it to my beloved grandmother, the Queen Mother, as, apart from anything else, she introduced me to the practice of homeopathy, in which she had an abiding interest.” The Prince worked together with top garden designer Jinny Blon for eight months to create the garden, which contains 125 varieties of medicinal herbs and shrubs. Last year’s Chelsea Flower Show was one of the last occasions the Queen, Princess Margaret and the Queen Mother were seen together in public.
