Three generations of Dutch royalty are represented in new portraits of Queen Beatrix and her family, but the star of the photographs is the newest member of the clan, nine-day-old Countess Eloise. The little infant is wide awake in the shots, which feature a beaming Queen Beatrix along with her husband Prince Claus and Eloise’s parents, Prince Constantijn and Princess Laurentien.
The heart-warming photos of the Dutch monarch’s first granddaughter come just over a week after Eloise’s June 8 birth in The Hague. The billionaire queen could be mistaken for any proud grandparent in one photo, which shows her with a broad smile as she cradles the little bundle of joy.
The tiny baby carries quite a big name – Eloise Sophie Beatrix Laurence, Countess of Orange-Nassau.
The youngest of the queen’s three sons, Prince Constantijn and his family live in London, where he took up an appointment with management consulting firm Booz, Allen and Hamilton last year. He and Laurentien were married on May 17, 2001.
