Princess Caroline of Monaco, dressed in a gleaming pearl grey gown by Chanel, drew all eyes when she made her entrance at Monte Carlo’s exclusive Sporting Club for the annual Red Cross Ball, one of the principality’s most glittering social events.
Notable by her absence was Caroline's younger sister Princess Stephanie, who is currently dating her father's major-domo Richard Lucas. And while many believed that Caroline's gorgeous daughter Charlotte might have made a showstopping appearance, the birthday girl, who has just turned 16, failed to grace the ball.
Accompanied by her husband Prince Ernst of Hanover, Caroline joined her father, Prince Rainier, and brother, Prince Albert, in hosting the sparkling soirée. The ball traditionally draws a large gathering of celebrities and jetsetters, and this year was no exception.
Cutting a dashing figure was ex-007 actor Roger Moore, with his glamorous wife Christina Tholstrup. And the glamour level was high this year, with Ivana Trump and her daughter Ivanka making a striking twosome, and model Adriana Karembeu presenting the traditional tombola.
Actresses Monica Bellucci and Alexandra Kamp-Groeneveld, like Princess Caroline, opted for the metallic look: Monica wore a silver Dolce and Gabbana creation topped off with an eye-catching Cartier necklace, and Alexandra was in a tantalising gold number
After the banquet, guests tried their luck in the tombola and were treated to a lively performance by rocker Rod Stewart before moving outside for a spectacular firework display over the bay.
